Habitat for Humanity of Michigan, an organization that represents more than 60 Habitat For Humanity affiliates across Michigan, has selected Venue to add eCommerce to their Salesforce Lightning Community.
Through leadership and education, Habitat for Humanity of Michigan has helped thousands of families improve their everyday lives. One way they do this is by operating the Michigan ReStore Distribution Center (MRDC). The MRDC collects and manages large scale inventory purchases and donations. It then distributes materials as needed to more than 50 local ReStores across the state.
ReStores are nonprofit home improvement stores that directly support local Habitat for Humanity efforts. All ReStores are open to the public, so anyone can shop from an inventory of new and gently used goods, at a fraction of their retail price. ReStores accept donated material from building contractors, manufacturers, and the general public.
Habitat uses Salesforce and Lighting Communities to connect their many stakeholders including board members, local affiliates, supporters, ReStore managers, and the MRDC. Habitat’s Salesforce Community has proved to be an invaluable collaboration resource for the organization.
Habitat chose Venue because it is 100% built using Salesforce’s Lightning Platform. By adding Venue eCommerce to their Salesforce Community, Habitat will extend the value of their Community by giving ReStore managers the ability to easily order products from the MRDC distribution center. Venue allows all sales and inventory data to be centralized and consolidated into Salesforce which significantly reduces administrative overhead and cost.

We’ll better track and report our impact to our donors and stakeholders. That in turn will allow us to grow our donations and distributions so that our affiliates are able to serve more and more families in their communities.”
